My lack of an online presence
I’m sure some of you have been wondering where I’ve been, or what I’ve been up to.
The answer is quite simple.
I’ve been living. Full time job, friends, etc., caused me to gradually fade from the internet circles I was once a part of, with a few exceptions.
I gradually have come to realize that my desire to belong, be recognized, and interact with these communities was hurting me, because I relied too strongly on being validated by them.
It’s not that these communities are bad, rather they’re quite creative! That said, I won’t be parting ways, but I am continuing to limit my online presence to a very select few locations, which ultimately restricts whom I keep in touch with.
Of course, this ruins how marketable I am, among other things.
And oddly enough? I haven’t minded that at all. Hell, I’m glad I’ve stepped away from nearly everything online.
It’s helped me focus on a lot of things, and I’m more inspired as a musician than I have been in a long while.
I’ll have something to share when I finally get comfortable with my voice and my lyrics. It’s been a real challenge.
